SQL Server Database Developer

Arlington, VA
Job Description
DANE is seeking an SQL Server Database Developer in Arlington, Virginia (temporarily remote work due to COVID-19). You will serve as a subject matter expert associated with performing database development for SQL servers/systems to meet stakeholder requirements.

As a part of the development team, the selected candidate will be responsible for database development on a variety of key internal applications. We are seeking a self-motivated, creative, and proactive developer, who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment independently, as well as on a team. You will work closely with developers, project managers, software test engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, developing database code (programming), performing triage of operational issues, collaborating with team members on design and architecture, and acting as an overall database subject matter expert. A strong understanding of the Agile SDLC processes and database programming, management, and tuning methodologies are necessary.
Additional Job Responsibilities
Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Support database management activities and improve DB quality and scripts
  • Develop and deploy DB scripts for data quality, stability, and security systems to support maintenance activities that meet or
    exceed SLAs
  • Develop innovative SQL solutions
  • Expertise of SQL Server database performance, integrity, and security
  • Experience writing packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Experience driving data quality and providing production support
  • Experience defining and creating data structures for schemas including tables, views, indexes, etc.
  • Knowledge of best practices for database storage management, high availability, and data replication
  • Experience with database tools such as MS SQL, Toad, PL/SQL, and TSQL
  • Experience with DACPACs
  • Solid understanding of database and related tools and applications, to include SQL Server Relational Database Management
    System (RDBMS); Structured Query Language (SQL); Transact-SQL (T-SQL); SQLCMD; Power Shell, SQL Servier Integration
    Services (SSIS) packages, and Stored Procedures
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains database, procedures, and functions that accommodate changing business
    priorities and technological changes while providing availability, scalability, performance, recoverability, reliability, and security
  • Experienced with extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes and reporting
  • Experience supporting deployment packages and supporting the maintenance of QA environments to the prepare/review
    final deployment packages
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of technology database development experience
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to maintain the required clearance for this role
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or any time in
    the future
  • Unable to work with 3rd party candidates or agencies

  • CI/CD and DevOps Experience
